The aim of this workshop was to orient Chinese authors to the structure of a biomedical manuscript and emphasize, through tips specific for Chinese authors, the elements that are frequently overlooked during the process of manuscript writing. The session was intended to help participants have a stronger understanding of manuscript structure and be equipped with easy-to-apply strategies to help them through the manuscript-writing process.
Dr. Bo Cui obtained his medical degree from the Fourth Military Medical University in China, his master’s degree in English from the University of Hawaii, and his doctoral degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. He was a grantee at East West Center, Honolulu, HI, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow and staff research associate at Duke University. Dr. Cui is also a Distinguished Professor at Nanjing Medical University, China and was a member of the American Association of Cancer Research, European Association of Cancer Research, and the American Council of Science Editors. He also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several international biomedical journals and is a paid consultant for several private and public companies.
