Manuscript writing trainer Gui Su discussed errors that authors typically make when drafting their manuscripts and preparing for publication. This webinar comprised two distinct sections: the first focused on the different elements of a submission package and the manuscript, and the second on other points to keep in mind before submitting a manuscript to a journal. Gui shared tips on
Dr. Su completed her Ph.D. training in the University of Wisconsin Madison (UW-Madison) with a major in Human Physiology. She then worked in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of UW-Madison as a research scientist for 11 years. During her research career, she had published numerous papers in high impact journals, such as Cancer Research and Oncogene, written multiple research grant proposal, and trained both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to writing her own papers, Dr. Su also has also helped Chinese investigators to successfully publish their papers in international scientific journals.
Before Dr. Su moved to the United States for her Ph.D. training, she finished her Bachelor and Master’s degree in China Agricultural University. Thus, with her research experience in both China and USA, Dr. Su understands the challenges faced by Chinese investigators for publishing their research reports in English scientific journals. She has conducted several workshops in China on manuscript writing for publication in SCI journals.
